We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join the Holderness Day Services team based at the Victoria Avenue Day Centre in Withernsea. Holderness Day Services is made up of two units based at Hornsea and Withernsea and provide day services to people with disabilities and older people.
You may be required to travel to other units due to service requirements; therefore, the need to be flexible is essential.
The position requires NVQ 2 (working towards / or equivalent) in care. All other relevant training will be provided. The successful candidate will need to complete The Care Certificate on commencement of the post. This will be provided by the ERYC and will take approximately 12 weeks.
The ideal candidate will have experience within the care environment including significant experience of working with adults with a learning disability and /or older people.
We are looking for a keen and focused individual who has drive and energy, and who works in a person-centred way.
The role will include supporting people with personal care needs, assisting in the provision of eating drinking and providing a keyworker role to a specific group of people. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with the ability to support and facilitate activities in the centre, such as cooking, arts and crafts / sensory/ reminiscent activities, health and wellbeing and life skills.
The successful person will be passionate about providing the best service possible.
They will be proactive in helping people to maintain their independence and be able to respond positively to the changing needs of the people who use our service.
Candidates should have the necessary written and verbal communication skills to ensure that we are working to a high standard. Record keeping and report writing are an important part of the role.
