Due to a surge in the the UK staycation industry, Sykes Cottages are seeking a Customer Support Assistant to join our fast-paced, dedicated Operations team at our Chester HQ!

Our latest Customer Support Assistant will be joining our wider Operations department which stands as one of our longest established departments in our 27-year business. Split across our Reservations, Customer Support, Web, Owner Performance and Customer and Owner Relations teams, we embody our Sykes ethos in every aspect of the customer journey from initial bookings to cancellations and through to customer and owner enquiries. Our Operations team year-on-year act as the driving force in our ongoing success and are one of our most continuously successful areas of our entire business.

As our newest addition, you will be responsible for answering queries and aiding in driving appropriate questions online. The role requires a proactive approach to dealing with customers whilst having an in-depth knowledge of Sykes processes and supporting customers and owners through the online process. You will be responsible for ensuring that every customer contact maximises income per booking, that the quality of the contact exceeds customer expectations and that all company procedures are adhered to.

This is a full-time, permanent role within an expanding team dedicated to providing high-quality, industry-leading solutions to facilitate the growth ambitions of the business. Part time hours are also available.

Reporting directly into our Customer Support Team Manager you will be responsible for the following areas:

  • To deliver outstanding customer service on every call and going the extra mile for our customers
  • To resolve customer/owner issues in a timely manner and in line with the overall Company Guidelines
  • Feeding back to Reservations/Customer Service/Ops Team Manager’s on opportunities to enhance the customer experience
  • Feeding back to Reservations/Customer Service/Ops Team Manager’s on opportunities to improve Sykes processes
  • To adhere to all Customer Support Team and Company procedures
  • Effective communication with customers, both internal and external

As our newest Customer Support Assistant, you will have the following key skills:

Essential to have:

  • Previous experience in a similar Customer Service or Customer Support position
  • Proven Customer Service experience within a call center environment
  • Telephony experience dealing with customers queries
  • Skills in negotiating
  • Excellent communication skills

Shift Pattern - Will cover a shift-rota basis covering evenings and two weekends a month. Department opening hours are 9am - 7pm however during peak times these will be extended to 9pm.
